UAZ Bukhanka

A four-wheel-drive off-road camper built on the classic UAZ Bukhanka (1998), converted in 2024. Made for serious off-roading and hard-to-reach places; no toilet, shower or air conditioning, just a cabin heater. Note: this is an old Soviet-era vehicle — demanding to drive and basic in design, without the comfort or reliability of a modern campervan. Minor mechanical issues do happen, but are usually fixed quickly and cheaply at almost any garage in Georgia, so be ready for a more adventurous trip. Driving to Tusheti and other high-altitude mountain areas is not permitted: the old engine does not run reliably in thin air.
